Tips on safety in the home

There are a number of safety hazards int home that you are aware of I am sure, but there are many more that you may not have considered yet.

I like to teach dogs to stay in a safe area away from the areas where someone might be cooking especially where hot water or oils may be spilt. Here its also important to teach your puppy to refrain from picking up food that you might drop as some things can be highly toxic to dogs such as onion, Xylitol (Birch sugar - sweetner), chocloate, raisins/grapes etc (there are extensive lists online).

I also teach manners at the doorway/gateway. This is useful for the safety of your dog when going out of the house on the street, crossing the road, entering the vets. There are many more applications for this.

I also encourage teaching your dog not to rush passed you on the stairs.

There are many more safety aspects not just in the home but elsewhere that can be taught.

Do get in touch for these and other safety tips and guidance.
